Poor air quality is causing changes and closures across areas of City of Spokane Parks and Recreation. We will continue to monitor the air quality.

Aquatics

The six City of Spokane aquatic centers are closed. Splash pads remain operable.

Recreation classes, camps, and fields

Today, Ultimate Sports Camp, Adventure Camp and Mobile Recreation are cancelled. Athletic fields are closed and athletic events scheduled on fields are cancelled. Parents and registrants have been notified of cancellations or changes for any programs. Activities already scheduled indoors are not impacted.

Riverfront Park

Attractions are currently closed, and Tuesday’s Riverfront Eats is cancelled in anticipation of poor air quality. Restrooms near the Rotary Fountain (south bank) and Forestry Shelter (north bank) are open.

Golf & Park Operations

To protect the health of our staff, when the air quality index is in the hazardous level above 300, all work outside of buildings and vehicles is suspended except for emergency calls or repairs. Golf courses are open, but operations staff is not outdoors.
