July 6 at 2:37 p.m. - Park Board voted to rename Glover Field & Peaceful Valley Riverwalk to Redband Park, in honor of the Redband Rainbow Trout that spawn there.

Piano in the Park welcomes Riverfront visitors to play all summer

Parks’ Purchase of Land on South Hill Bluff Connects Trails

May 31 at 4:17 p.m. - Parks & Recreation purchased nearly 50 acres of private property, allowing citizens to legally use the trails along the popular area in perpetuity.

Indian Canyon Golf Course Opens Friday, April 6, 2018

April 5 at 2:03 p.m. - Indian Canyon will open Friday, joining Downriver, Esmeralda, and The Creek at Qualchan - a sure sign that spring golf is in full swing.

Skate Ribbon Opens Today for Roller Skating

The Creek at Qualchan Golf Course Opens Wednesday

March 16 at 3:04 p.m. - Joining the recent openings of Downriver & Esmeralda, The Creek at Qualchan is preparing to open 3/21/18. Tee times can be reserved beginning 3/17/18.

Downriver and Esmeralda Golf Courses Open March 15, 2018

March 12 at 3:24 p.m. - Downriver and Esmeralda golf courses are preparing to open March 15. Indian Canyon and the Creek at Qualchan will have opening dates soon.

Free Admission to City Pools Approved by Park Board

March 9 at 11:11 a.m. - With a goal of giving everyone a chance to swim, the Park Board approved free open swim for all ages at City aquatic centers beginning this year.

Riverfront Skate Ribbon Update 03.06.18

March 6 at 3:48 p.m. - Sunlight exposure is keeping Riverfront from building ice to the thickness necessary. A cooling component failed last month, but is now functioning.

Skate Ribbon Update 3/4/18

March 4 at 2:24 p.m. - We are making ice! Necessary mechanical repairs have been made under warranty, and the new vessel passed testing and inspection.

Skate Ribbon Closure Update 2/23/18

Feb. 23 at 2:46 p.m. - Riverfront crews & contractors continue to work to re-open the Skate Ribbon. The goal is to re-open ice skating in early March.

Skate Ribbon Closure Update

Feb. 5 at 4:45 p.m. - The Skate Ribbon in Riverfront Park remains closed for a mechanical repair, and it could take at least 3 weeks to restore ice to the ribbon.

IMAX Demolition Moved Up in Schedule, Begins Jan. 29, 2018

Jan. 25 at 4:23 p.m. - The IMAX was slated to be demolished in March. However, to utilize heavy demolition equipment already on site, it will now begin Jan. 29.

Skater injured Friday at Riverfront Park has since passed away

Jan. 20 at 8:46 p.m. - We inaccurately reported a skater passed, but confirmed she is in critical condition. We are terribly sorry for our error. Our prayers for the family.
