As another step in realizing the 2014 Riverfront Park Master Plan vision of establishing the Pavilion as a premier gathering place with regional and national recognition, Riverfront Spokane has retained AEG Presents for event booking services.

AEG was selected via an extensive Request for Proposal (RFP) process, standing out among other proposals for their experience in booking national acts, and focus on guest experience and safety. The three year contract with a two year extension option will make AEG the exclusive concert production service provider for national and regional acts. Local musicians and performing artist are exempt, and the agreement establishes priority for long-standing community events such as Pig Out in the Park and Hoopfest to use the Pavilion on first right of refusal basis.

AEG is one of the leading providers of live entertainment in the world, booking thousands of concerts every year, including big names like Justin Timberlake, Paul McCartney, Stevie Wonder and Katie Perry, as well as festivals like Bumbershoot and Coachella.

The contract with AEG guarantees Riverfront a minimum of $80,000 per year in rent and a minimum of thirty (30) concerts during the initial three (3) year term.

Riverfront Programming and Marketing Manager Amy Lindsey says the partnership with AEG is very similar to that of their existing relationship with King County and Marymoor Park. Marymoor’s AEG-produced concert series supports the operation and maintenance of King county Parks’ facilities and public lands. Similarity, the revenue generated from the summer concert series at the U.S. Pavilion will help support facility maintenance and help fund future free and low cost programming.

“Experiences are the new currency,” said Lindsey, “and we can’t think of a better place for our community to gather and make new memories than in the heart of Spokane at our beloved Riverfront Park.”
