SPOKANE – Join us for a virtual event to unveil the design for the City’s first all-inclusive playground, funded by a community benefit grant from Providence Health Care. The media is welcome to attend, and we ask interested community members to watch from home via Facebook Live.

Mayor Nadine Woodward and Peg Currie, chief operating officer of Providence Health Care, will unveil the rendering, name, and theme.

The playground is under construction, scheduled to open to the public this fall.

Community focus groups made up of parents, children, and health professionals specializing in adaptive and sensory play provided input at multiple stages during development. Their expertise helped ensure the playground meets the diverse needs of our community. Shane’s Inspiration, a playground design firm dedicated solely to the design of inclusive playgrounds around the world, donated the design work.

The event will be streamed live over Facebook and a video recording available shortly after. In alignment with phase 2 guidelines, we ask people to watch the live stream from home.
