SPOKANE – The U.S. Pavilion has won sixteen international, national, and local awards honoring its innovative design, illumination, and service as a community gathering space.

Among the awards are the National Recreation and Park Association’s Innovative Design award winner, Design-Build Institute of America’s Project of the Year 2020, and Illuminating Engineering Society International’s Award of Distinction for Outdoor Lighting Design 2020 – all three the highest levels of recognition offered from these organizations.

“The U.S. Pavilion is the crowning glory of Riverfront Park, and is getting the recognition it deserves,” said Mayor Nadine Woodward.

“The U.S. Pavilion represents hope and strength for our community,” said Garrett Jones, Director of Parks & Recreation. “Intended to be a temporary structure built nearly 50 years ago for Expo ‘74, our community found a way to reimagine this iconic structure and bring it into our future while honoring the past.”
