Celebrate Arbor Day with family activities, yard care tips, and environmental education

SPOKANE – Mark Spokane’s 19th year as a Tree City USA at the Arbor Day Celebration on Saturday, April 30, 2022 11 A.M. – 2 P.M., at Finch Arboretum rain or shine.
Spokane Urban Forestry presents free family activities, tree care and environmental education for all. Spokane County Master Composters will be on hand to share all there is to know about bringing life to your soil. Event sponsor Bartlett Tree Experts will be handing out free tree seedlings and demonstrating arborist tree climbing techniques.
Participants are invited to tour the trees, nature, and history of the John A. Finch Arboretum at this family and photo friendly event. As a rule, pets are not allowed at the arboretum.
About the Arboretum
The John A. Finch Arboretum is Spokane’s “outdoor classroom” for naturalists, horticulturists and students of all ages. Located just off the Sunset Highway, the Arboretum occupies 65 acres of land along Garden Springs Creek where thousands of trees and shrubs can be seen and studied.
The botanical collections of the arboretum hold over 2,000 trees and shrubs representing over 600 species and varieties from around the world.
