Expo 50th anniversary opening ceremonies are planned for Saturday, May 4 from 3 – 9 p.m. across Spokane! The events kick-off a 9-week celebration.

 

Highlights shared today at a press conference include:

  • Pillar Showcase, a procession representing each of the Expo pillars listed below
  • Poetry readings
  • Musical, theater, and dance performances
  • Cultural sharing
  • Dignitary remarks
  • Expo ’74 legacy reflections
  • Spokane Indians’ first game as the Expos
  • Beer garden and food trucks
  • Vendor market
  • Performance by Earth, Wind, and Fire tribute band, Kalimba
  • Drone show
