Spokane Police investigate fatal auto-pedestrian collision

Spokane Police Traffic Investigators are investigating the circumstances surrounding an auto-pedestrian collision that occurred near the intersection of Monroe and Mansfield last night at approximately 6:30 p.m.

A mother and her two young children were struck by an oncoming vehicle while crossing Monroe Street. The female child was transported to the hospital and pronounced dead this morning. The mother was transported to the hospital with life-threatening injuries. The male child was transported to the hospital and is expected to survive. The driver of the vehicle is cooperating with police and has not been charged. Investigation into this incident is ongoing.
