Incident #: 14-28961
Spokane Police arrest four Burglary suspects after they were located repelling through the roof access area of K-Mart on E. Sprague. 18 year-old Jose Lemus and three other juvenile males were booked for 2nd Degree Burglary, 1st Degree Malicious Mischief and 2nd Degree Theft.
On 01-28-14 around 3:00 a.m. Spokane Police officers responded to a report of a trespass call at the K-Mart at 4110 E Sprague. A citizen called in saying he observed several subjects on the rooftop of the building. Upon arrival officers observed two people inside the business with headlamps and masks on. Two other subjects were contacted on the roof by officers and taken into custody. Officers observed a roof access area had been broken into and damaged and it appeared the suspects had repelled into the store using a chain. The two suspects already inside the business later exited the store and were taken into custody without incident. Several backpacks were recovered at the scene which contained watches, rings and other jewelry belonging to the business. A cart was also found that had been loaded with an Xbox and other electronics. Spokane Police arrested 18 year-old Jose Lemus and three juvenile males for 2nd Degree Burglary, 1st Degree Malicious Mischief and 2nd Degree Theft.
Spokane Police are investigating a possible connection between these suspects and another burglary at K-Mart that occurred last month.
