Reported Shooting Victim Likely Accidentally Shot Himself

Spokane Police receive report of a man who had been shot in the leg and was being transported to the hospital; Investigation determines the shooting victim likely accidentally shot himself; There are no suspects believed to be outstanding; The victim's injuries are non-life threatening and the investigation into the incident is on-going.

This evening, May 15th, 2014, just before 5:40 p.m., Spokane Police Patrol received report of a victim who had sustained a gunshot wound to his leg and was on his way to the hospital from a location near W. 3rd Ave. and Stevens St. Officers responded to the reported location minutes after the initial call and determined the incident likely occurred at another location.

Through follow up investigation it was determined the victim likely accidentally shot himself. His injuries were determined to be non-life-threatening and there is no suspect believed to be outstanding.

Investigation into the incident is on-going.
