Spokane Police Officers respond to the report of a shooting victim who arrived at an area hospital and arrest the victim’s brother, 30-year-old Jy Jy Jones, for 1st Degree Assault and Unlawful Possession of a Firearm. Within 90 minutes of the first 911 call, officers had secured and processed two crimes scenes, recovered the weapon involved, and arrested the suspect. The victim’s injuries are non-life threatening.

On 05/15/2014, just after 2 a.m., officers received a report of a shooting victim dropped off at a local hospital. Security was able to provide a detailed description of the vehicle that dropped the victim off. Using that description, officers located the vehicle after the suspect returned to the hospital. They were also able to develop information leading them back to the scene of the shooting in the 1100 block of east Newark.

When officers responded to the Newark address, they were able to develop information surrounding the incident and where the gun had been disposed of. Officers located the firearm and processed the scene at the house, developing enough information to charge 30-year-old Jy Jy Jones with the above listed crimes. He was booked into Spokane County Jail. The victim’s injuries are non-life threatening.
