The Annual Cops n’ Kids Car Show is this Saturday, Aug. 16, from 7-11 p.m. at Riverside and Washington in downtown Spokane. This event has been held for the past 20 years and is an opportunity for police officers from numerous local agencies to talk and interact with kids, and view the best show cars, trucks, motorcycles, and even bicycles! This event has continued to be successful every year because the adults and children who attend have made the choice to be drug and alcohol free as well as practice safe driving habits during the show.

Trophies will be handed out for each car class, as well as prizes for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place. The classes include 1900-1949, the ’50s, ’60s, ’70s, ’80s, ’90s, and the New Millennium. You’ll see every kind of vehicle from the backyard buggies, vintage police cars, and even expensive show cars like the ones sold in national auctions. There will be cars brought in from the Good Guys Car Show at the Spokane County Fairgrounds this weekend, so everyone will get to see the best of the best! Watch the video from the 20th Anniversary in 2012.

Attendance is free and there will be a local hot dog vendor selling food at the event. If you want to register your vehicle, registration starts at 6:30 p.m. and is free as well.

Riverside from Bernard to Washington will be closed for the car show from 6:30 p.m. to midnight.
