Spokane Police Asking for Your Help to Prevent Car Thefts

As the temperature drops in Spokane, the Spokane Police Department is asking for your help in preventing car thefts. Every year we receive many reports of vehicles that have been left unoccupied and were stolen while warming up.

Three vehicles have been stolen in the last week while they were left running and unattended. Officers have been contacting owners of unoccupied running vehicles while they are out on patrol.

The citation for Unattended Motor Vehicle is $124. Most vehicle thefts are crimes of opportunity, so don't give the thieves the opportunity to steal your car.
