Arrest Made Minutes After Initial Emergency Call

Spokane Police Neighborhood Conditions Officer James (Jim) Christensen located and arrested a bank robbery suspect while he (Ofc. Christensen) was on his way home from work. The suspect was arrested eight minutes after the initial emergency call.

This afternoon, at approximately 3:30 pm, Spokane Police received a report of a hold-up alarm at the Washington Trust Bank on Indiana between N. Division St. and N. Ruby St.

The report indicated a male had entered the located and demanded cash, but did not display a weapon.

Spokane Police Neighborhood Conditions Office James (Jim) Christensen was on his way home from work and quickly located the suspect, who was travelling on a bicycle near Division St. and Mission St.

The man was taken into custody eight minutes after the initial call.
