Spokane PD responds to shooting near the 500 block of S Altamont St.

This morning, July 21, 2015, at approximately 0950 Spokane Police responded to a call of a male shot near 5th and Altamont. The first officer was on scene within two minutes. First aid was rendered and the victim was transported to a local hospital where he died from his wounds.

Initial statements from witnesses indicated there was a dispute occurring between a man and woman when another male intervened. Weapons were produced and one of the males was shot.

Spokane Police Major Crimes Detectives and the Spokane County Forensics Unit responded to the scene. Investigators believe that all the persons and weapons involved are accounted for. There is no threat to the community.
