Major Crimes Investigating Body Found Downtown

The Spokane Police Major Crimes Unit is looking into the circumstances surrounding the death of a male found near the railroad tracks in the area of the Intermodal Depot downtown. The male was discovered just after 6:00pm this evening. Anyone with information about this incident is asked to call Crime Check at 509-456-2233.

Tonight, April 21, 2016, just after 6:00pm, Spokane Police responded to the report of a deceased male near the tracks in the area of Brown and Sprague. At this time it does appear the male was hit by a train. Major Crimes was called in to assist in the investigation. They are processing the scene which includes looking at any surveillance footage in the vicinity. The tracks reopened just after 8:00pm.

Positive identification of the victim as well as cause of death will be released at a later time. Anyone with information about this incident is asked to call Crime Check at 509-456-2233.
