The Spokane Police Major Crimes Unit is investigating a death in the 5300 block of north Addison. Medics responded to a home at that location after receiving a call of an unresponsive female. When they arrived, it was determined the woman was deceased.
This afternoon, April 23, 2016, just before 2:30pm, Spokane Police Patrol Officers responded to the home in the 5300 block of north Addison after medics found a deceased female at the scene. Medics had originally been called for an unresponsive female. The Major Crimes Unit was then called in to assist in the investigation.
Information was developed indicating the victim was assaulted by her boyfriend several days ago. Investigators consider him a person of interest at this time and are attempting to locate him.
The female has injuries indicative of domestic violence abuse, but it’s unclear at this time what the cause of death is. Major crimes is processing the scene and speaking with witnesses. The identity of the female and cause of death will be released at a later time.
The Spokane Police Department considers Domestic Violence a serious threat to our community. The Major Crimes Unit is working very diligently to investigate this incident.
