Male in Custody after Brandishing Weapon Downtown

The Spokane Police Department responded to calls of a possible active shooter downtown Spokane. A male was taken into custody without incident and booked into jail.

On 03/02/2018, at 6:15pm, the Spokane Police Department received calls of an active shooter near the Apple Store downtown. Officers responded in force and determined no shots had been fired. River Park Square Mall security personnel provided a description of a person with a handgun which was brandished. Officers quickly located and detained the person matching the description. That person, Max D Zidrashko (21), was later booked into Spokane County Jail for Carrying a Dangerous Weapon. It was determined no one was injured during the incident.

The collaboration with River Park Square Security and rapid response of Spokane Police Officers ensured the safety of citizens. The Spokane Police Department takes these calls seriously and is committed to safeguarding our community. There is no continued threat to the community.
