Spokane Police are investigating the body of a deceased person found inside the Spokane Materials and Recycling Technology (SMaRT) Center.

Today, April 5, just after 3:45PM, Spokane Police responded to the Waste Management SMaRT Center located in the 2900 block of S. Geiger Blvd., for the report of a deceased body located in the facility. The body was not an employee, and it was not related to an industrial accident. Spokane Police Major Crimes Unit (MCU) Detectives and the Spokane County Medical Examiner responded to the scene to conduct their investigation. The investigation is ongoing.

The Spokane County Medical Examiner’s Office will release the identity of the deceased person and the manner of death after all notifications have been made to the family of the deceased.
