SPD investigating fatal shooting incident in East Spokane.

On 04-07-18 just before 7:30 PM, SPD responded to a shooting at a residence in the 3100 block of E 8th Ave. A deceased adult was located. One person of interest has been detained, and the investigation is on-going.

Right now Major Crimes Unit detectives are processing the scene, interviewing involved parties, and composing search warrants in order to locate any pertinent evidence.

Initial information is the deceased individual and the person of interest were known to each other and this is not a random incident. There is believed to be no continued threat to the public.

The Spokane County Medical Examiner will release the identity and manner of death at the conclusion of their investigation.

Anyone with information about the incident, who has not spoken with detectives, is asked to call Crime Check.
