Friday, the Spokane Police Department investigated a sexual assault in north Spokane. During the investigation Officers learned that a 12 year old’s step father had sexually assaulted them. After an investigation, Detectives arrested and booked the step father for 2nd degree Rape of a child.
On June 15th, 2018 Officers received a report of a sexual assault that involved a step father and a 12 year old child. Detectives took over the investigation shortly after. They were able to obtain a search warrant for a residence in the 1700 E Queen block to collect evidence of the crime.
Officers contacted and arrested James Reinert (29 years old). He was later booked into the Spokane County Jail for 2nd degree Rape of a child.
