On 06-18-18, a little after 4:00PM, SPD responded to the area of Nevada and Wellesley in Northeast Spokane. A male subject was discovered to be deceased from an apparent gunshot wound.
Major Crimes Unit (MCU) detectives investigated the scene, and witnesses were interviewed. There are no outstanding suspects at this time, no one has been criminally charged, and there is not an on-going threat to the public. SPD would like to speak with any additional witnesses who have not already talked with investigators; they are asked to call crime check at (509)456-2233.
Identification of the deceased will be made by the Spokane County Medical Examiner’s office after next of kin can be notified.
Traffic was restricted in the area for several hours, however all lanes of travel are back open at this time.
