On Sunday evening at about 11:50 PM there was a vehicle collision just outside the Southwest terminal at the Spokane airport.  The collision included multiple victims, some with serious injuries.  The Airport Police Department requested assistance from SPD.  Officers investigating the incident determined the following.

A husband and wife were at the back of their vehicle in the loading / unloading zone with their luggage when a car came into the loading zone and struck them, and the back of their car.  The couple’s two daughters were seated in the back of their vehicle at the time it was struck.

The couple received serious but non-life threatening injuries to include broken bones and a loss of consciousness. It does not appear at this time that either daughter sustained any injuries.

The driver of the at-fault vehicle, David W. Bergstrom born in 1959 was arrested and charged with two counts of vehicular assault.  It does appear alcohol was a factor in the collision.
