Two Overdoses Prevented In an Hour with Narcan

SPD responds and uses Narcan to save lives at two separate incidents of apparent drug overdoses in under an hour.

SPD is first on scene to respond to a medics call around 3:30AM on June 12, 2020 near the 1000 block of W Mansfield.  Narcan was administered by officers within five minutes of the initial call, saving the subject’s life. (#2020-20099149)

Shortly after that incident, SPD is first to respond to another medics call around 4:15AM near the 1600 block of N Lincoln, again administering narcan within moments of the call.  A total of four doses were used on the individual between SPD and the fire department to help him regain consciousness.
