Fatal Shooting near Monroe and Augusta

A fatal shooting occurred today just after 2:30 pm on Monroe Street near Augusta Avenue. One male is deceased and the other involved subject is cooperating with Police. The investigation is ongoing.

Yesterday, June 23, 2020, around 2:33 pm, Spokane Police Department (SPD) Officers responded to a report of a shooting in the area of Monroe Street and Augusta Avenue. Witnesses reported two males had been involved in a conflict prior to the shooting.

An SPD Officer arrived on scene and found one male deceased on the sidewalk. The Officer contacted the other male nearby who is cooperating with Police.

Officers secured the scene and began locating witnesses. Major Crimes Detectives arrived to take over the investigation.

SPD believes all parties involved in the incident have been located and there doesn’t appear to be an ongoing threat to the community.
