The Spokane Police Department responded to a shooting in the street next to a fast food restaurant at Heroy and Division. There were no injuries and the complainant stated he returned fire after being shot at.
On Monday evening at around 8:25 PM SPD Officers were dispatched to a shooting at a fast food restaurant in the 4400 block of N. Division. Officers contacted the complainant and numerous witnesses and recorded the following;
Around 7:45 PM the complainant states he was in his car on Heroy Avenue facing east and a car driven by a man he did not recognize drove west bound toward him and shot at him. He retrieved his own handgun and shot back when the car came back around a second time. He was not struck and neither was his car. The complainant described the suspect car as a dark Chevy Malibu.
A witness who was cleaning a nearby building in the 4400 block of Division Street, across from where the shooting took place, said she was looking out a window of the building where she was working when it shattered inexplicably. Upon examination a maintenance man from the building found a bullet lodged in the window frame.
Two witnesses from different locations on Heroy heard gunshots and believe they may have captured parts of the shooting on their surveillance systems. One described seeing an exchange of gunfire between two cars.
SPD Officers recovered the bullet lodged in the window frame from the business across the street and collected shell casings recovered on Heroy Ave, as well as video evidence. They also checked the area for any unintended victims or other evidence.
