Man arrested for making a bomb threat to Planned Parenthood.
On November 25th, 2020 at approximately 3:00pm a man identifying himself as Jermain Wakefield (45) called 911 stating that he had placed bombs in Spokane. The Spokane Police Department Behavioral Health Unit has come into contact with Wakefield on several past occasions. While talking to the 911 operator Wakefield mentioned that the bombs were at Planned Parenthood on the 100 block of E Indiana.
SPD contacted the director of the Planned Parenthood location to alert them of the threat. A sweep of the location was completed and no explosive devices were found.
Wakefield was contacted and arrested on December 2nd, 2020 for one charge of Bomb Threats. He was booked into the Spokane County Jail and released on December 3rd, 2020.
