Update 4/30/21:
The person injured in last night’s drive-by shooting has succumbed to his injuries.
SPD has arrested one juvenile in relation to the homicide.
Major Crimes is actively investigating this incident and looking at other potential suspects.

SPD investigating Northeast Spokane shooting incident
On 04-29-21 a little after 8PM SPD was notified of a drive-by shooting incident near Northtown mall. Initial reports indicated two vehicles were involved and shots had been fired from at least one of the vehicles.
A person injured in the incident was admitted to a local hospital with serious injuries.
Detectives are actively processing evidence and interviewing involved persons. Preliminary information indicates the incident was not random, however the motive and surrounding circumstances are still under investigation.
More information will be released as the investigation allows. Anyone with information on the incident or who witnessed the shooting and has not spoken with investigators is asked to call crime check at 509-456-2233 reference incident 2021-20067959.
