UPDATE: Arrest made in downtown shooting

25-year-old Michael H Le, the male detained by officers immediately following the shooting, was booked into jail for second-degree murder.

The investigation remains active and more information will be forthcoming.

One deceased in downtown shooting

On 07-31-21 a little after 11:30PM, a shooting occurred in the 400 block of W Sprague Ave. SPD officers on foot patrol in the area pursued a fleeing suspect who was detained a short time later.

Despite the medical efforts of first responders an adult male victim was pronounced deceased at the scene.

SPD has detained one suspect, and currently no one else is being sought.

W Sprague Ave from Bernard to Stevens, and S Washington St from Riverside to 1st is currently closed as Major Crimes Unit detectives process the scene.

The investigation is it its preliminary stages and information is limited. Details will be released, as appropriate, in the future.
