Downtown Fatal shooting.

At 12:14 AM two SPD officers who were working the downtown bar- patrol were on scene in the Sprague and Washington area when they heard gunfire just to the north of them, (less than a block away).  The officers quickly found a male down on the east sidewalk of Washington just south of Riverside with multiple gunshot wounds.  A very large crowd was forming and a citizen was attempting to render aid to the wounded male.  One of the officers took over life saving measures while the other monitored the crowd and directed in Officers and medical personnel.

It took over 30 SPD units to control the crowd, secure the very large crime scene and begin the initial canvas and investigation.

The wounded male was pronounced dead at the hospital.

SPD Major crimes responded along with other investigative resources.
