SPD makes arrest in death of 77-year-old Spokane man
On 07-08-2022, SPD arrested 44-year-old George Sessions for murder in connection with the death of a 77-year-old male.
The investigation began after a medical call to a residence on 02-01-22. SFD personnel discovered the victim who was subsequently transported to a local hospital with multiple traumatic injuries. The victim remained hospitalized for approximately four weeks before passing away.
SPD SVU detectives began investigating shortly after the victim entered the hospital. The victim was able to speak with and help investigators before succumbing to his injuries. Information obtained during the investigation revealed the victim was likely assaulted for hours during which multiple injuries were incurred. An autopsy performed by the Medical Examiner’s Office confirmed the victim’s death was attributable to the trauma suffered during the attack, and ruled a homicide.
Sessions, a long-time acquaintance of the victim, was identified as a suspect and subsequently arrested for murder 2nd degree.
At the writing of this release Sessions remains in Spokane County Jail.
