Spokane police searching for escaped inmate

At about 10am this morning, 5/18/23, SPD responded to a call that a male from a Geiger Correctional Center work crew walked away from a job site in the Browne’s Addition area of Spokane. The crew had just begun litter cleanup near 3rd and Sunset Blvd when the inmate took off. SPD officers have been searching the area and conducting an investigation.

Police are asking for your assistance in locating Eddie Williams, a 43 year old black male -  5’5, 180 lbs., with black hair and brown eyes.. He was last seen wearing a distinctive correctional center issued orange vest and shirt and blue pants. If you see him or know anything about his whereabouts you are asked to call Crime Check at 509-456-2233.

Williams was arrested in late April on a Domestic Violence Protection Order Violation.  Probable cause now exists to arrest him for Felony Escape.
