One vehicle accident results in fatality

At about 2:45 this afternoon – 9/22/23  –  a woman was killed when a vehicle hit a tree and rolled on top of her. Early indications are the driver was on foot trying to retrieve a vehicle that was rolling downhill and attempted to reenter the driver’s seat when the vehicle hit a tree and rolled over. SPD’s Major Crimes Collision Team responded to the scene in the 900 block of E. Overbluff Rd. on the South Hill.

Roads near the scene will be closed down as the investigation continues. The name of the victim will be released at a later time by the Medical Examiner’s Office.
