SPD arrests two convicted felons, requests charges on a third, and recovers most vehicles stolen from a dealership, within a day and a half of the burglary

On 10/24/23 at 10am, SPD patrol officers responded to an automobile liquidation business in the 3800 block of North Division on a report of numerous stolen vehicles from the business’ lot. It was determined a person or persons broke into the business and stole multiple sets of keys. Later that morning, several people returned to the business, used the stolen keys and took a total of 8 vehicles (originally reported as 9) during several trips back to the dealership between 2 and 5:30am.

Investigators from SPD’s Stolen Property Enforcement and Recovery (SPEAR) Unit quickly worked to identify the suspects and recover the vehicles. By early afternoon officers had located 4 cars in an apartment complex in North Spokane and shortly afterwards arrested one suspect. Fran Anunar (19) is charged with 8 counts of vehicle theft and 1 count of commercial burglary and was booked into the Spokane County Jail late yesterday. Anunar is a 3 time convicted felon to include 2 burglary convictions.

Today, 10/25/23, SPEAR continued the investigation and arrested another suspect. Heran Linfield (20) was arrested for possession of a stolen vehicle, residential burglary, obstructing a law enforcement officer and an outstanding felony warrant for possession of a stolen vehicle. Linfield has one prior felony conviction. A third person was identified as a suspect in the thefts and charges were requested on the adult female.

SPD has recovered all but one of the stolen vehicles. The investigation is ongoing with additional arrests pending.
