SPD arrests 8 time convicted felon in relation to drive by shooting

On 3-1-24 at 7:39am, SPD responded to the area of Freya and Wellesley on a report of a drive by shooting.   A bullet hole was found in the victim’s vehicle from a reported  road rage incident. Officers were provided with a description of the suspect and his vehicle and began searching the area.  They located the vehicle in the area of 3900 W Olympic and quickly detained the suspect male.  Officers determined the suspect had discharged a firearm.

Keith J. Butters (44) was placed under arrest and booked into the Spokane County Jail for 1st degree assault, 2nd degree unlawful possession of a firearm and drive by shooting.  The suspect vehicle has been seized pending a search warrant.  Butters is an 8 time convicted felon with his most recent convictions being 2nd degree burglary and possession of a controlled substance.
