On 3/5/24 Dané K. Hulings (42) was booked into the Spokane County Jail for 2nd Degree Murder in the death Alvin Gallegos (76). Hulings was arrested in Humboldt County, California in February in relation to the murder. Two SPD Major Crimes detectives traveled to CA this week and transported Hulings back to Spokane.
On April 26, 2023, Spokane Police responded to a suspicious death at an apartment in the 2600 block of E. 29th Ave. Gallegos had been fatally stabbed. SPD Major Crimes detectives have diligently worked this case and in January of this year were able to develop probable cause to arrest both Dane Hulings and her 18-year old son Caleb Hulings for Gallegos’ murder. Caleb Hulings was arrested and booked into the Spokane County Jail on 2nd Degree Murder on 01/30/24. He remains in jail on a $250,000 bond. His mother’s bond was set at a million dollars during her initial arraignment yesterday.
