SPD responds to shooting in Spokane that leaves one subject deceased

Update 3/25/24:

On 3-23-24, Detectives with the Spokane Police Major Crimes Unit (MCU) booked Daniel R. Quinn (37) for a number of charges to include Felony Stalking and Unlawful Possession of a Firearm-1st Degree.  On 3-25-24, detectives added a charge of 2nd Degree Murder in regards to a shooting death last week. Quinn is currently being held at the Spokane County Jail on a one-million-dollar bond.

Original Release:

On 3-22-24 at just after midnight, Spokane Police responded to the area of Thor and Cleveland on a report of a shooting. Officers arrived to find an unresponsive subject down on a sidewalk. The victim had sustained gunshot wounds. The first responding officers quickly began life saving measures in an attempt to save his life. Officers continued medical aid until Spokane Fire and AMR arrived. Despite continued emergency care, the victim succumbed to his injuries a short time later.

The area was locked down by patrol officers as they began looking for evidence involved in the shooting death. Detectives with the SPD Major Crimes Unit responded to the scene and are actively investigating the crime. There is no suspect information at this time. The name of the deceased will be released at a later time by the Spokane County Medical Examiner’s Office.
