SPD focuses on drug and related crimes in the DT core with extra events and activities underway

On May 16th 2024 at 8:00pm, officers with the Violent Crimes Task Force (VCTF) arrested Ashley G. Giles (33) for Possession of a Controlled Substance with Intent to Distribute in the area of 2nd and Division.  Giles has an extensive history with police including numerous prior drug related  arrests. Giles is currently an inmate at the Spokane County Jail.  The vehicle she was using during the drug transaction was seized.

Giles is a convicted felon with her most recent convictions being Possession of a Controlled Substance and 1st Degree Rendering Criminal Assistance.  The Spokane Police Department will continue its effort to target the drug and other related crimes that persist in our community. Extra police staffing in the downtown core is part of an emphasis for the 50th anniversary celebration of Expo 74’ in order to ensure a safe and enjoyable environment for all.
