On Sunday, 08/18/24 shortly after 1:00am, SPD received a report of a drive-by shooting in the 4900 block of N. Magnolia. Officers discovered shell casings in the street upon arrival. They attempted to talk to residents of a house on the block who were not cooperative and provided different accounts of what happened, including a person coming out of the house and firing a gun. No victims were located at the house.

A very short time later, officers responded to a near-by residence in the 1800 block of South Riverton referencing a male who showed up with a gunshot wound. Officers located a male who had been shot on the ground outside of a vehicle. Officers treated his wounds which did not appear life-threatening at the time. The victim’s girlfriend relayed the shooting happened near Mission and Hamilton while they were driving but there was no evidence of a bullet hitting the car. A firearm and loaded magazine were located inside the vehicle. Officers were again met with uncooperative witnesses including some involved persons. This shooting remains under investigation.
