On October 22nd, 2024 at approximately 7:49 AM, the Spokane Police Department responded to a report of a possible burglary in the area of 100 South Howard. Upon arrival, officers spoke with security personnel who had discovered an open window at the rear of the building and signs of unauthorized entry. Security also informed the officers about two individuals (one male, one female) seen walking away from the scene, who were quickly detained by the officers.

Video evidence confirmed that the two individuals had recently exited the building. While in handcuffs, the male, seated on the sidewalk, began moving around and officers noticed a white powder on his clothing. The individual then acknowledged having “powder on him.” He was identified as Caleb L. Morrow (38), who had an outstanding warrant for his arrest in Cheney, WA. Upon searching Morrow, officers found a significant quantity of drugs, cash, and a loaded firearm. Among the items was a bag containing approximately 130 small blue pills, suspected to be counterfeit narcotics (Fentanyl) as well as a bag of white powder.

Due to a prior felony conviction, Morrow is prohibited from possessing a firearm. He was subsequently arrested and booked into the Spokane County Jail on the following charges:

  • Criminal Trespass
  • 2nd Degree Unlawful Possession of a Firearm
  • Possession of Legend Drugs with Intent to Distribute

The female detained with Morrow, identified as Bailey Bancroft (20) was also taken into custody for an outstanding felony warrant issued by the Department of Corrections and Criminal Trespass charges.

This incident highlights the effectiveness of intentional community participation (security), smart technology (video) and efficient police response in achieving a successful and safe outcome.
