John C. Palmer (32) was taken into custody on new domestic violence (DV) charges as well as a Department of Corrections (DOC) warrant for Escape from Community Custody where the original charge was Assault 1st Degree with a deadly weapon.
This evening, April 25, 2025, around 5:40pm, Spokane Police received a call from a concerned relative of one of the victims. They said Palmer was at the victim’s location making threats to the kill the victim and destroy her property.
At first, officers were unable to make contact with the victim to ascertain the situation. Once contact was made, officers initially had a difficult time trying to determine if anything was wrong, but soon heard someone speaking in the background who was not the victim. Eventually, Palmer showed himself, advised he had two people in the home and was planning to harm them. A number of police resources were brought in to try and resolve the situation peaceably, but based on the information they eventually received, officers ended up forcing entry into the home to safely secure the two victims.
Both victims were treated by medics at the scene and released. One officer sustained a minor injury and was treated by medics as well. Palmer was transported to Spokane County Jail where he will be booked on his warrant and the new charges of 2nd Degree Assault DV and 1st Degree Kidnapping DV.
