Early this morning in northeast Spokane, police received reports of a possible shooting. While no one was injured, there was damage to a vehicle. Through a diligent investigation, officers took two suspects into custody and recovered two firearms, one of which had been reported stolen, several hours later.

Just after 5:30am this morning, May 31, 2025, Spokane Police responded to a shooting call in the area of Liberty Ave. and Market St. in northeast Spokane. During the investigation, officers were able to tie this incident back to a similar incident from the day before. Yesterday, the shooter ran from police and officers had probable cause to arrest the suspect, later identified as Zachary Gring (32), for Eluding from that call. Today Gring shot at a house and car of a person he had a relationship with.

Information about the incident, including surveillance footage, went out to patrol units. Several hours later, just before 11:30am, an officer spotted the suspect vehicle, initiated a stop, and both a female and male took off on foot from the car. The female was apprehended nearby and was identified as 26 year old Allie Alderson. She has been booked into Spokane County Jail on a Department of Corrections Warrant (the original charge being RIOT) and a warrant for No Valid Operator’s License in the 1st Degree, as well as 2 Counts of Drive-by Shooting from today’s incident.

Shortly after Alderson was taken into custody, a vigilant citizen called in saying they believed they saw the second suspect hiding nearby. Gring was taken into custody without incident. He was booked into Spokane County Jail on two counts of Unlawful Possession of a Firearm 1st Degree, 1 count of Possession of a Stolen Firearm, and two counts of Drive By Shooting Domestic Violence for today’s incident. He was also booked for Attempt to Elude from yesterday’s incident. Additional misdemeanor charges are being referred to the prosecutors office as this investigation is on-going.
