Spokane Police booked Taylor Gudgel (36) into Spokane County Jail yesterday for 1st degree Rape Domestic Violence (DV), 1st degree Kidnapping (DV), Felony DV Order Violation, Unlawful Imprisonment (DV) and 1st degree Assault. The original call into police stemmed from an incident that happened Thursday evening where Gudgel assaulted an adult male victim with his vehicle. Then, yesterday morning, a relative of the adult female victim called police and said they feared she’d been kidnapped by Gudgel.

On Thursday, August 14, 2025, just before 9:00pm, police responded to the area of Greene St and Sprague Ave on a 911 call where someone could be heard screaming in the background and operators believed they could hear some kind of physical altercation. Once on scene, officers found a male victim with significant injuries laying in the street. The male was transported to an area hospital and is expected to recover. During the investigation, it was determined Gudgel had assaulted the victim both during a physical altercation and with Gudgel’s vehicle. It was also established that both the female and male victims were acquaintances and were seen together by Gudgel prior to this initial assault.

Just before 8:30am, yesterday August 15, 2025, Spokane police responded to the call of a possible abduction. A relative of the victim called in and advised she believed Gudgel had kidnapped the female victim who currently had a domestic violence protection order against Gudgel.

At approximately 2:15pm, detectives located Gudgel’s vehicle in the 3700 block of east 26th Ave. Due to the circumstances, SWAT had been deployed and forced entry into the home, finding both Gudgel and the victim inside. Gudgel was taken into custody without incident and was booked into Spokane County Jail for 1st degree Rape Domestic Violence (DV), 1st degree Kidnapping (DV), Felony DV Order Violation, Unlawful Imprisonment (DV) and 1st degree Assault. The victim was transported to an area hospital to receive treatment for her injuries.
