On December 17, 2025 at 6:30 p.m., 911 received a call from a female in the 2700 block of East 39th advising a friend of hers was at the location asking for a gun. Concerned for how the male was behaving, the caller retrieved several guns and left the home with her daughter although one firearm was still inside the residence. The name of the male given to 911 was Arthur Chambers. Chambers was already a suspect in a firearm theft incident that took place on the 13th as Detectives were actively trying to locate him. Information was obtained during both incidents that Chambers was acting erratically.
Due to the documented safety concerns and the fact that a firearm was still inside, multiple specialty units responded to the home to include SWAT, K9, Hostage Negotiators and the Air Support Unit. After the home was surrounded, repeated attempts were made to establish communication with Chambers. At approximately 9:30 p.m., Chambers walked out of the residence and peacefully surrendered to officers. Arthur L. Chambers (41) was taken into custody and booked into the Spokane County Jail for 1st Degree Unlawful Possession of Firearm and 1st Degree Criminal Trespass. Chambers is also being held on a detainer issued by the Washington State Department of Corrections.
Once again, the combined efforts of all the officers present and involved specialty units led to a peaceful outcome in this matter.
