4:15 p.m. - A homeowner called police to report a female was on the property, which had been lost in the Old Trails Fire, and it appeared she was stealing items.
2:15 p.m. - SPD’s Major Crimes Unit is investigating an unattended death. At this stage in the investigation, the cause and manner of death is unknown.
7:55 a.m. - A resident of Five Mile called in to report their house had been burglarized between August 1st and August 8th, while they were evacuated.
2:35 p.m. - The Spokane Police Department is reminding the public that entering fire damaged homes without permission and taking property is a crime.
3:45 p.m. - Officers responded after callers reported seeing two young children coming out of a tent occupied by a registered sex offender near the river.
12 p.m. - Spokane Police Department’s Major Crimes Unit (MCU) is investigating two suspicious deaths in the area of 5400 N. Cook St.
2:16 p.m. - Just after 12:00 p.m. on August 11th, 2026, Spokane Police Officers responded to the area of Franklin Park for a reported shooting on an STA bus.
2:20 p.m. - On August 10th, SPD responded to the intersection of North Ash St and West Northwest Blvd for a report of a vehicle versus pedestrian collision.
8:26 a.m. - On August 9th around 1:30 am, Spokane police officers responded to the area of 800 W. Garland Ave for reports of a shooting.
10:40 a.m. - SPD reminds everyone to use the official source for evacuation level information, which is listed in this release.
10:45 a.m. - SPD, along with community partners, have made the difficult decision to cancel this year's National Night Out events scheduled for tomorrow evening.
12:26 p.m. - The Spokane Police Department is asking everyone to stay out of wildfire evacuation areas unless you are a resident evacuating.
