At approximately 03:31, the Spokane Fire Department along with automatic aid from our partners at Fire District 9 responded to the 4800 North block of Oak Street on a report of a possible garage fire.

Spokane Engine 13 from the Shadle Park Neighborhood Fire Station arrived just minutes after dispatch and reported a detached garage heavily involved in fire. After an initial assessment, Engine 13 found two detached garages on fire with flame impingement on a nearby house.

Two ladder companies and four engines responded. Crews adapted quickly to the multiple exposures deploying several hose lines resulting in extinguishment of the fires within 5 minutes of arrival.

After a primary search of the two garages and home it was determined there were no occupants and no injuries to civilians or firefighters are reported.

Thanks to the quick and coordinated actions of the on-scene crews one garage and the home were saved from any significant fire damage.

Due to the suspicious nature of the fire, the cause of the fire is under

investigations by the Spokane Fire Special Investigation Unit and the Spokane Police Department.
