Just before 7 AM on Sunday, November 27, 2022, the Spokane Fire Department (SFD) was dispatched to a report of a house on fire in the 2300 block of West Bridge Avenue. Arriving within minutes, multiple fire companies reported heavy smoke from the upper level of the 1-1/2 story single-family home. SFD firefighters stretched hose lines for fire control, searched the residence for any occupants, and ventilated the roof to allow heat and fire gasses to escape within 20 minutes. Despite the fire being tactically challenging due to multiple additions and roof lines, firefighters overcame those challenges and located and extinguished the fire.

The house sustained significant damage and will be unhabitable for a time; two adults and five children were displaced and are being assisted by the Red Cross.

This incident remains under investigation by the SFD Special Investigations Unit. There were no injuries to civilians or fire personnel.
