Spokane Human Rights Award nominations begin

The Spokane Human Rights Commission and Mayor David Condon are pleased to accept nominations for the 2014 Spokane Human Rights Award.

This award recognizes contributions and achievements to advance human rights in the City of Spokane within three categories

  • Youth Award (Individual under 21 years of age)
  • Individual Award
  • Organization Award

Nominees will be judged by members of the Spokane Human Rights Commission. The closing date for nominations is Friday, Oct. 3 at 4 p.m.

The award will be presented during the 2nd Annual Human Rights Award breakfast on Friday, Oct. 24 at 8 a.m. at Spokane City Hall.

The 2013 award winners were:

  • Purnina Karki (Youth Award)
  • Francis Adewale (Individual Award)
  • Spokane NAACP (Organization Award)
