The busy intersection of 14th Avenue and Lincoln/Monroe reopened Wednesday morning. Traffic will be allowed to move on 14th across the intersection. Lincoln/Monroe Street remains closed, however, from 7th-17th Avenues as major construction continues on the couplet.

Businesses in the area, including Huckleberry’s Natural Market, Rosauers, and Picabu Bistro, remain open during construction. Temporary traffic controls have been put in place to ensure customers have access to shops and other businesses.

The work along Lincoln/Monroe is meant to improve drivability on the important arterial. The project includes reconstruction of the street by replacing the asphalt surfacing, including ADA ramps as needed.

The road closure is expected to last through the end of construction season (mid-Oct.).
