The story of Spokane and its neighborhoods is starting to take shape as public input for Shaping Spokane continues.

Spokane residents have been using Shaping Spokane’s interactive My Neighborhood Map and My Neighborhood Story tools to identify the things and places they love about their neighborhood. One local woman is helping describe Peaceful Valley and what sets it apart from Spokane’s other neighborhoods.

Every neighborhood has a story. Through the month of October, the City is asking people in Spokane what they love about living, recreating, and doing business in their neighborhood. The input will set the framework for the physical, social, and economic development of the city. The information will help establish policies for land use, transportation, parks, open spaces, shopping, dining, entertainment and employment.

The Shaping Spokane campaign is part of the City’s work to update its 20-year vision and roadmap for Spokane. Visit ShapingSpokane.org for more information.
